Words to live by.
Because you don’t know what that person is going through in her life that she won’t let you back-out of your parking spot in a crowded school parking lot, even though you have your backup lights on and you’re inching your way out of the parking spot, she just refuses to let you out, even blocking you in the spot for some time because she can’t be bothered to let you out, because she may have to wait 20 seconds longer to get out of the parking lot, and heaven forbid she let you in front of her and you exit the parking lot before she does.
I am just saying.

“He’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously – take God seriously.”
Micah 6:8 ♥
Have you ever said something and wished you could take it back? Wished you had said it differently or more eloquently? Wished you knew the right thing to say at that very moment? I had a conversation with a client today. He asked, “If you could change one thing or do just one thing in this country that would carry throughout the whole country, what would it be.” Well, about 5 things came to mind. He pressed me to say one or two things. I said, “education is high on my list of things to change and God or faith of the country.” Anyhoo, I am not very articulate when put on the spot so it came out kind of haphazardly.
Our school system is a mess, our country has turned away from faith in God, we are more divided than ever before, liars and cheats are being turned into celebrities, and everyone is looking out for “number 1” and forgetting to love thy neighbor. That was what I wanted to say anyway.
Then, tonight, as I was blog-hopping, I read this verse from Micah 6:8. That is what I would have said, if I could take it back. It is everything that I am feeling right now. What our country needs right now: compassion, love, justness.
#1: A new baby in the family!
Welcome Hailey, who shares Parker’s birthday and is her cousin. Lots of black hair like my ‘lil bro. Beautiful.
#2: 3 words: John-Michael Liles (and the Colorado Avalanche). Technically, that is 7 words. I have had serious hockey withdrawals all summer. I know Liles spent most of last season in Coach Sacco’s doghouse but this year is going to be different…this is his year! I can feel it.
#3: 4 day weekend. Need I say more? I should be cleaning the house right now but, I am not. Took Parker to the doctor this morning; she got 2 shots. Ouch! Going to the pumpkin patch tomorrow with the kids.
#4: A great faith quote:
So, that’s it. Part of my own little happiness project. 4 things that I am happy about today. What makes you happy today?
